I personally am very skeptical about using big branded company products such as Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash to treat psoriasis. First of all they were never created with the psoriasis sufferer in mind and secondly, they care more about marketing than they do about their actual products. I was not going to add this to the list of natural psoriasis treatments but I came across some ringing endorsements which changed my mind.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash Product Summary

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash is a creamy body wash that supposedly cleanses and moisturizes for visibly healthier skin every time you shower. According to thier marketing blurb, the product combines combines natural colloidal oatmeal with a unique blend of natural oils and rich emollients to lock in moisture.

It is a creamy formula and has a hint of a fragrance. It is soap-free and dye-free however when you look at the ingredients it is pretty obvious that some of them may aggravate your skin. However saying that I do like the fact that one of the main ingredients is glycerin as this is known to really help psoriasis sufferers (especially guttate psoriasis).

Sometimes we get blinded by all the good success stories that we reject the negative comments and dig deep into our pockets before doing our due diligence. I am a tough judge, but I think it is safe to assume from all the comments I read online that the aveeno product line does indeed keep your skin soft and moisturized but it does not reduce the redness.

It’s main benefit is to drastically reduce scaling which is a huge positive in itself, but the holy grail for a psoriasis sufferer is to reduce the redness and eliminate the lesion altogether. Unfortunately it fails at this and therefore I mark it a 3/10 for effectiveness.

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU SEE RESULTS?

You will generally see results instantly. This means your scaling will decrease considerably and your skin will stay soft and supple but the redness will persist.

IS IT WORTH INVESTING TIME AND MONEY IN?

My belief is there is a place in your bathroom shelf for this product, but as a complementary product to some of the other treatments in this Top 20 Natural Psoriasis Treatment Success Stories List. Every psoriasis sufferer should use some sort of moisturizer to keep your skin elastic and free from pain associated with large dry scaly skin patches.

This product would work well in conjunction with a prescribed steroid cream such as dermavate, dovobet, cortisone etc. as it would reduce the redness. Of course there are many pitfalls to using these type of creams so you must weigh up the negatives in your mind before starting a course. My opinion is as usual try as many of the natural psoriasis treatments as listed in the top 20 natural psoriasis treatments table and se which ones work bets for you.
